The medical news today reconfirms our strong belief in buying directly from the manufacturer and not cutting corners to save money and put our patients at risk. The front page article in the Marketplace section of The Wall Street Journal reported that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent letters to 350 medical practices warning them they could have received unapproved and potentially fraudulent versions of Allergan's Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) from a wholesaler network managed by Canada Drugs. They also warned that not only could these vials be potentially ineffective, they may be unsafe as well.
